Sam & Matt’s Rhode Island elopement walking through the streets of Providence was so much fun! Meandering through the historical streets, finding some good eats and getting caught in the rain were just a few of the highlights of the evening.
Sam & Matt’s Rhode Island elopements started off with getting ready with their friends at their AirBnB, which was a historic home remodeled with some funky modern interior elements. Sam & Matt also went all out with the personal touches for their day. between Sam’s vintage motorcycle jacket, the custom record print she got for Matt, their one-of-a-kind rings, and the decadent donuts in lieu of cake, the whole day was 100% a reflection of their personalities.
Once they were all set and ready for the day, they had a first look moment in the enclosed courtyard at their AirBnB.
After the first look, we spent some time wandering around the city just taking in the sites and looking for the perfect spot to say “I do.” One of my favorite aspects of Sam & Matt’s elopement was how go-with-the-flow and up for whatever these two are. It really allowed for so much joy and freedom in how they lived their day.
In the end, we decided to host their ceremony right on the side of the river with downtown Providence as a backdrop.
At this point, it was starting to get kind of drizzly and we knew that more serious rain was on its way, so wee booked it to SARTO for a celebratory dinner with their close friends. I also hear that the burrata is so amazing that Sam & Matt went back the next day for more!

After dinner, we continued to walk around the city. it started off as a light drizzle, and then became a fully fledged torrential downpour before we made the decision to call an Uber and head back to the AirBnB. luckily, Sam & Matt and their friends were super good sports about the weather and really leaned into it for a fun night in the rain.
Even after we made it back to the AirBnB, Sam & Matt were still up for doing some more intentional and playful photos in the rain, which of course I was all about. And the results are stunning!
